I just re-did the water system on a Thor Wanderer RV. I dunno how PEX compares with the PVC, but I will tell you this. DO NOT try to get by with PEX splices. Bite the bullet, buy the PEX crimping tool and do it right the first time. The E-Z PeeZy slip-fit connectors SUCK!!! I tried the quick fix and turned right around and ripped it all out because the quickie didn't take. Some splices worked, others leaked. After re-doing everything, I have gained an appreciation for why PEX is used. It's actually easy once you get the hang of it.
