Huckabee is a RINO despite any liberal judgments made based upon his appearances, and now his own show, on the Fox News Channel.
To the best of my knowledge, Huckabee's views on the state and religion are not outside what is regarded as the mainstream. Perhaps the point attempted by our Massachusetts correspondent is that he is a former preacher and thus suspect.
I'll reiterate, for the forty-fifth time, that there is no constitutional mandate for separation of church and state. There is the establishment clause and there is the free exercise clause, neither of which use the word "separation" at any point. Massachusetts was one of many states to have a constitutionally valid state religion. You could look it up. Or not.
Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana is an attractive candidate for the GOP.
