Furling Problem

Hi all, I am having an intermittant problem with my furler. It is one of the old ones with a separate top and bottom, and no foil joining the two. I don't see any brand markings on it. My current problem is that when I furl my 150 genoa the bottom begins turning well before the top, leaving me with a tightly rolled lower end and a very loose upper. This leaves the top of the sail to catch some wind while at the dock. I have tried applying more pressure (and less) on the sheets while furling the sail. Sometimes things work fine and other times, like now, it doesn't. I have tried tightening the halyard and loosening it to see if that helps. I don't see much difference. I should add that I usually do this solo, so maybe that is the problem?

Any suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks, Bill
