Good grief.
I didn't buy a boat because it was a sound financial thing to do. I didn't buy the airplane for that reason either. I bought them because I wanted them and I could afford to operate them.
There's more to life than money.
As for the charter option..sure it's probably a better "financial" option but I find scheduling my boat much less of a hassle, everything is a tradeoff.
