Go for it if. I would say check out the Pardys book "The Cost Consious Cruiser" I would have liked to have read it before buying, and I would have loved to bought right now also. As I bought my boat almost a year ago and the boats I've seen that are simular are 2-5k less now. Check out Sailingtexas.com there are tons of boats from all around the gulf area and a nice looking Pearson in the 30 foot range for I think around 15k in the Kehmah, Clearlake area of Texas. Don't think less of boats with a tiller as thats one thing I would prefer a year down the line, that and less is more and more is more of a pain!!
