Irwin 37 Center Cockpit, Cutter
Paul, I´ll second Jeff´s observations. We´ve seen 3 generations of Irwin 37´s in the Caribbean so they obviously can be made to cruise regionally. OTOH owners are mostly trying to maximize space and features (aka: systems) for dollar spent, rather than spending their money on performance, seaworthiness or structural engineering.
The boats were built in the same era-area as Morgans, Endeavors, Gulfstars and some smaller builders, the work forces would oscillate between builders for one reason or another, and Ted Irwin´s company never seemed to get as good a product out the door as the other builders...which isn´t saying a lot.
Of course, none of this may matter to you, depending on what your intended uses are. Ít´s always helpful if posts like yours could clarify in detail how you plan to use the boat.
