Sounds like we have a new sport on our hands as well as way to control the nasty carp population. Who needs clay pigeons? Just imagine saying "THROTTLE!" instead of "PULL!"
Interesting how they jump out of the water when a boat goes motors by. Reminds me of a story about how a people can get worms to come out of the ground by "worm grunting" they put a wooden stake in the ground and rubbing a piece of iron on it causing vibrations that make the worms do what seems illogical - leave the safety of the earth. Maybe the prop/motor vibrations cause a similar instinctive reaction to the carp and can be utilized to contain or control them.
If so, I'll take full credit for the idea and any monetary dividends from averted losses may be forewarded to the moderators of Sailnet to use at their discretion
Otherwise, let me know when the Flying Carp season opens! THROTTLE!
