It appears to be a metal keel with a big wrapper of fiberglass and some kind of hard foam. It's certainly not all-metal with just
paint over it.
As for Oak Harbor, that's right across Rock Creek from where I am. Do you suppose I could splash her as is and motor across to the creek for
repair without damaging things any further? She would probably be in the water for no more than 15 minutes, tops.
Assuming she's not leaking badly, of course. I could check for that while still suspended in the sling and pull her if water started gushing in.
