I come to your forum from a love of rope handling. I was listening to NPR just today and heard that rope was being made 30 000 years ago. I regard tying rope as fundamental to our nature as gazing into the flickering flame of a fire.
Once I get my two posts, I'll share some of my one handed knot tying techniques. It's been viewed by climbers and seamen. One surgeon commented that he never knew so many knots could be tied with one hand.
Indeed the hand is a knotting machine, and our spirits are calmed when we tie rope.
