I think there were many compassionate responses, and even an offer of a boat. To my knowledge that offer was never taken up. Many of the responses were also from sailors who believe in keeping a boat ship shape. So their outlook is how to get the boat ship shape again.
I don't believe anyone here wished them bad luck. They just didn't offer to jump in, and adopt the family. Of course that's also on option for you if their problem still exist.
Nobody's going to give you the boot. Like everyone else you have an opinion, and you shared it. As you can see sailaway was very compassionate about their problem in his last paragraph. BEST WISHES in enjoying the forum.......i2f
