The article makes a great deal of sense in many respects. It is talking about the impact on ocean currents when fresh water melt interferes with currents. It also states that the effect could be localized to a degree. It doesnt talk about the impact on sea level rise. 20+ feet would certainly change things.

I dont doubt the impact of man on his enviroment. It simply has to have an effect. To what degree can we reduce the impact? I dont know but to some degree we certainly can reduce the impact. I know the ag sector is trying to reduce that impact. We are moving to Integrated Pest management practices, everyone is at least beginning the process. On our farm we have reduced inputs 30% in the past three years. If you dont do it to reduce GW its worth it alone to reduce costs. I think many of us will find exactly the same benefit to change. Even if we dont have a positive impact on GW its saves money which in and of itself is a damn good reason for action.
