Kirby 36
I do not recall a production design called a ''Kirby 36'' but Bruce Kirby designed a number of 35 and 36 footers. The race boats that I know of were pretty extreme custom IOR era boats that were pretty good IOR race boats but by any objective basis are pretty crummy boats if the intent is to either race one these days or cruise one. These boats should be cheap to buy and make pretty fair coastal daysailors although they were boats that typically required pretty big crews to sail.
Kirby also designed a very neat centerboarder called the Nightwind. These were sometimes listed as 35 feet and sometimes listed as 36 feet. These would make reasonable club level cruisers and would make pretty fair coastal cruisers in a shallower venue.
