BarryL is on a distinguished road
delivery captain

Hello,

I was in a similar position in 2006. I bought a boat in Newport, RI and needed to get it home to Mt. Sinai, NY (near Port Jeff). Trucking was out due to the cost. I wanted to sail the boat home and my dad volunteered to help. We both decided that hiring a delivery captain would be a good idea.

To make a long story short, we did hire a guy and he was great and really helped.

I found him here:
Spicer's Brokerage Sales (Noank, CT)

The guy I used isn't listed there anymore. If you want his number, let me know and I'll send it to you.

good luck,
Barry

I'm not at a level yet to do this on my own and was wondering if anyone has hired a captain for such services. Any recommendations on where to start looking? I checked in the "Crew Wanted" section, but since I'm looking for a short run and a captain, I'm not sure if that's appropriate.
