Manual to Electric Fuel Pump

I have a 1976 Islander 30 with an atomic 4 gas engine. I have the old manual gas fuel pump and want to convert to the electric fuel pump. I went to a boat dealer in Texas who wanted about $247.00 for the conversion kit. That seemed awfully high in price. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I would go about seeking a less expensive electric fuel kit.
Also I have gas coming out of the the raw water coolant thus discharging gas into the water when the engine is running. I was told that it could be a valve not firing however I have check and all valves are firing. Any suggestions as to why the gas would be coming out of the raw water coolant into the water.
