Need crew for Port Isabel to Galveston...

I’ll be moving my 35’ cutter from Port Isabel, TX to Kemah, TX this Monday (Dec 12th). I know its short notice, but if anyone is interested in going along and helping me out, please let me know. My father was going to help me out but he can’t make it.

If I make a straight run, I will most likely leave Port Isabel on the 12th, which puts me in Kemah around the 14th or 15th - depending on weather. Or, with an additional crew member, I could break the trip into two legs. The first leg would be from Port Isabel to Corpus Christi with a one night layover so I could visit Cassidy’s, my favorite Irish pub. Then, with hangovers in tow, we begin our second leg and make for Galveston where we hope to arrive around the 15th or 16th.

Once we arrive outside Galveston’s jetty wall, we’ll enter the hustle-bustle of the Houston Ship Channel and dodge oil tankers for 25 nautical miles until we reach Galveston Bay. If we live this far, we’re home free and we arrive in Kemah, TX. If we don’t make it... well, at least I got to visit Cassidy’s one last time. Either way, fun was had by all!

If anyone is interested and can take off that week, please let me know and we can work out the details either here in the forum or by email.

Cheers, Kevin
