French Boats - "Quum" Dufour 40 / 34

I own a Dufour 40 and am quite pleased with it. It is extremely fast on a reach and is single handled easily. We have had only minor problems with the boat. "Surfing upwind" is not possible as the boat is too heavy. I think this statement was probably translated incorrectly since it does not make any sense. We only have the crusing sails that came with the boat, it would easily perform better with some carbon fiber sails. I would like to know if QUUM had a tall rig or standard as we have. Keel modifications like the ones they are describing are hardly minor. This would be OK for an inshore race boat but it would dramatically affect the stability of the boat for offshore use. The boat is responsive in heavy air and will go in light air but does not accelerate well. So you have to tweak things slowly.
