I spent the better part of a Sat afternoon measuring the fittings' positions for the rigger to rig our new mast - previous owner neglected the chain plates resulted in the stick snapping. This is a 1979 P-26OD with the split back stay - with the connection from the single to the double being a single plate. My rigger is adamate that we use a double plate at the junction b/c of the fork terminals - is this overkill ($$$)?
Thanks,
JP
