There is a good article in the May 2009 Practical Sailor, that examines 53 exterior wood finishes after 6 months of exposure. It covers one part varnishes, two part systems, varnish alternatives, teak oil, and teak cleaners, and rates all of them using 7 criterias. In another 6 months there will be another report showing how they all fared...this is worth reading.
