thanks for reply. unfortunately I suspect impossible to drill large diameter holes due to the iron pigs which are encapsulated.I know this as one of the ist jobs I did was to create a sump to collect the bilge water so that it could all be pumped out. previously it just slopped about all over .When I bought her there was a big old iron chain in the bilges about2" links described as storm chain? must have easily been 1/2 ton took half a day to get out accompanied with about 10 gallons off old engine oil.didnt fancy it round my ears in event off knock down.I suspect solution may be to glass lead strips on to either side off keel as low down as possible but as you say would need advice from naval arctictect.Anyway she is still a good sea boat.
