Although I prefer wearing a titanium watchband, I have read somewhere that since titanium doesn't reflect light well, it may not be best for use as a sailing watch. The idea being that given all other items have been lost, a shiny watchband might be used as a way to signal for help.

On the other hand, the titanium band doesn't corrode as bad as the shiny bands, and is comfortable.

In any case, I wear a Tag Heuer.
