I am a watch guy (as well as a sailing guy and car guy). After losing an expensive Omega overboard (I smacked it against a stanchion when I was grinding a winch, long story, don't ask) I only wear cheap watches when I sail. What hurts is that I sort of know where the watch went overboard. It's in 15-30 ft of water (depending on tide, etc.) and I think constantly about the possibility of retrieving it.
