It appears as though the windlass calls for short link which would be BBB. Check your chain for either "BBB" or "3B" stamped on the links. High test is slightly longer and is marked G4. If the windlass is set up for short link then the longer G4 will likely jump periodically as you drop or weigh anchor. BTW if you do not have a match between your chain and the new windlass you may be able to buy a new gypsy to fit the chain you already have.
