For a number of years I kept a Garmin 76 at my binnacle with a plug to connect it to my 12V supply. I was pleased with it until I found that all of it's tide and current data was obsolete as of this past spring. I purchased a Garmin 440 for our trip up to Maine from Florida and our return this november. I'm not fond of interfacing much of my equipment, so I don't have the model that allows for the depthsounder or radar interface. The built in chart data is quite sufficient and the images and script is large enough for my "old guy" eyes. All these devices are subject to error or lacking updates of local marker moves; therefore, I'm always aware that the real world trumps the cyber world. In summary,- it's a great GPS for me. 'take care and joy, Aythya crew
