These boats you mention are examples of the compromises I was referring too. For strength, comfort and performance in the "Roaring Fourties" I think you should be looking for custom vessels like the Hawk cruised by Beth Leonard & Evans Starzinger. This is my opinion & not my experience, as I'm casually coastal cruising my 1973 production boat just from Maine to the Bahamas. 'take care and joy, Aythya crew
