I think you may find that change makes your slot too narrow. You might get away with it if the main is new and very flat. If the main is a all bagged you will not be able to take it far enough to windward to fill without bqackwinding the leech. You can try the effect for 'free' by barber hauling the jib clew to the opposite rail in order to bring it inboard. For this you may also need to rig the leeward track with two cars spread so you can control the fore - aft position of the clew using two sheets while you haul it inward.
