New marinas approved in Chicago
Great news as the City Council has approved two new marinas totaling more than 1000 slips.
One will be adjacent to Navy Pier (right downtown), will reserve significant space for transient boaters, and construction is expected to start in about 4 months.
The other will be at 31st street which is still pretty close to downtown. The design is done, but I don't know when construction will begin.
I think that one of the most important aspects of the new marinas will be the transient space. Chicago is a great place for daytrips and this will encourage more visitors from other marinas in the Great Lakes!
It's nice to have some good news for a change!
