I bought a boat 18 months ago that had all the paper work from the previous 6 owners. I had never heard of the brand before, Banjer, found there was an international owners site and that the original owner was looking for my boat, thrice renamed.
We have carried on a fair conversation, confirmed it was his DaKine and talked about how they sailed it to the US west coast from England, lost it in a force 5 hurricane, it blew off its mooring and spent a week alone at sea, and its recovery.
I've since either been contacted by or contacted 3 of the other owners, two of which have standing offers to buy the boat from me.
It has been a fun part of the journey
