We stopped in at Island Moorings at Port Aransas, and it was as Raindog and Allanbc described - nice facilities - and met some really nice people. A Moorings staff lady took pity on two lost wanderers (I assure you we didn't look particularly prosperous) and invited us to a yacht club breakfast and a wild game dinner the next night. Also, two really generous guys took us over their boat details and even recommended a broker. I could have talked with them most of the day, but broke off when I realized they had more work to do.

Mustang/Padre Island tends to be 10F cooler than the mainland, according to National Park rangers, so I do believe we've found our marina. Now I need to think about a boat.
