Strange Advise for the ones that like very good quality wine: Buy some bottles of young but very good quality wine, protect them and let them sit for one or two years (depending on how much you sail per year) on the bottom of your boat.
After that time the wine will get much better (older) compared with one that sits for the same time at your home or in the vineyards’ cave.
That’s strange but I am not crazy. The Portuguese used to put wine (as ballast) on the bottom of their sailboats, the ones that they used for trading with Brasil, India and Japan. Even taking in consideration the considerable losses due to shipwreck, the quality of the returning wine, made the affair a good business.
