My boat has a one piece fiberglass head which I like a lot because you're not spraying water directly onto wood bulkheads like on a lot of boats. The head sink is also outside the head compartment which is nice too because you can leave all your toiletries out on the vanity without having to worry about them getting wet. All that said, the downside to my boat's set up that you'll find on a lot of boats in the 30' and under range is that the shower drains directly into the bilge. I'm pretty obsessive about keeping my bilge dry and I think it would drive me nuts if I was showering every day on the boat. Luckily installing a shower sump with its own pump wouldn't be hard on my boat, but I don't know if the same is true for every boat.
