Hi Ralph
We broke 4 sail slides on the mizzen, not bad for a force 10.
We had fuel contamination from the start, with no wind we motor sailed for 2 days and went through 6 primary & 2 engine filters
So after the storm with the wind on the nose we had no choice but to turn back. Good sail though average 7kts SOG, not bad with just headsail and mizzen.
When we docked at Hooking Bull, we pumped all the tanks through a scrubber, added a larger Racor filter, new valves, hoses, so i am confident there won't be a fuel problem next time.
I have written an article of the trip for the Cruising Assciation Quarterly Mag
If you send your email i will forward a copy

regards Paul
