A Sorry Sight...(pic heavy)

A few weeks ago on lovely Green Island, Antigua, this boat was abandoned and washed ashore on the reef sheltering Rickett's Harbour, just outside Nonsuch Bay.

It had been aground for no more than 2 weeks when these were taken. Rumour had it that it was involved in a contraband run from Jamaica, off loaded and then abandoned.

I don't recognize the type, she'd been stove in pretty severely on the starboard side where she lay, and in the 5 days or so between our first sighting it and getting close enough to get a good look she'd been pushed 40 feet onto the reef. The rudder was gone, part of the keel torn off and the interior is trashed as you can see.

Amazingly even after nearly two weeks aground very little has been salvaged.. some nice self tailers there still!
