I own a 1971 irwin 38 which has sat in the water for 10 years and just had the hull scrapped during this time. I have just hauled the boat out the water and surprise the hull has blisters everywhere. I got a quote for $5500 to do the work (suction sanding past the gel coat 1/8" + 6 coats barrier + bottom
paint) without touching the through-holes, which was an extra $2500. The sail boat water
line is roughly 30 ft with a 3.6 draft. Is this price close to what the norm is for this type of work and watercraft?
