Be VERY careful where you spray PB Blaster -- it will eat right thru seals and cause you lots of grief (it's great stuff, except when it gets into/onto places it shouldn't). SD's recommendation is spot on - also make certain there are no sharp bends in the control cable. How's the casing on the cable? Does it look damaged anywhere? I just replaced mine and shifting is now super smooth. Replace it -- Murphy says it will break when you least want it to! It's not hard to do, but resist the temptation to go with a lighter (i.e,. cheaper) cable. On my P30, the cable is 5/16" and 9' long. Cost was roughly $140. Yours may be different!
