Ship of Opportunity to do Plastic Research in N. Atlantic

I work with a team of researchers attempting to quantify the amount of plastic marine debris in the North Atlantic. Some rough coordinates to where we would like to go is 28 North Lat, 50 West Lon. We will be in Bermuda doing beach surveys 7/3/10 until 7/18/10, but would swap it out for an opportunity to get out into the accumulation zone recently discovered in the N. Atlantic. We are now looking for a ship of opportunity to cruise approximately 800 east of Bermuda. We have limited funding, but the collaboration to address this issue of plastic pollution would surely prove to be rewarding. This is an environmental issue that has gotten much needed press. Spending time on the open ocean I'm sure many of you have stories. Working closely with the Algalita Marine Research Foundation in California, we hope to do some seasonal comparisons with data collect this past winter. Would welcome any questions concerning this research. Do have some experience aboard 50' cat.

Best,
Bonnie
