Not sure about Dyes inlet, as I have not been up there. BUT, the channel to and from can get interesting during the tide shifts, ie current from what I understand. Port Orchard/Bremerton can be anchored to the south and west of each. It can get shallow to a degree. Along with a wicked rip that can run on the south shore by the PO marina's. Another option might be the east side of Blake island too. Or hook up to one of the few remaining buoys.
Edmonds North of the marina, south of the ferry terminal might make a good anchorage in a south wind. Not sure I would want to be there in a higer north wind. I have not seen too many boats anchored there, so it is probably not a known, or other wise used spot. I will go north sometimes in south winds to set the sails in this area as it stays reasonably protected.
She drives me boat,
I drives me dinghy!
