Every time you get into a car, you have the equivalent of "all that gasoline" on board. If you have a garage, it's stored in your house, too. Gasoline has been and remains the primary fuel for small vessels since the early 1900s. Not many of us can afford to put a $10,000 diesel in a $9,000 sailboat. All you need to do is run the bilge blower, check the hoses once a year and have fun. The so called "safety" benefit of diesels is not supported by real world facts or problems. I have young people on my boat all the time and I think it's a most excellent idea.
