The above posters are correct. It's a Universal diesel based on a Japanese Kubota industrial engine. For a Catalina 27, I would bet it's a model 5411. Main issue with those engines is that they are raw water cooled and can have overheating issues after years of use in salt water. Good news is that parts are readily available - expensive from Universal/Westerbeke and reasonable from Kubota or other non-marine sources.
