Year-round in freshwater, best bottom paint to last several years?

There are a number of boats on Lake Ontario which don't haul out for winter, some sailing even in winter, and a number of liveaboards who stay on the water year round. This question is aimed at these year-round boaters.

I've heard of some liveaboards managing to eke 7 years out of their bottom paint with no problems. Impossible?

I'd like to keep the boat on the water year round. I did this winter and the slime buildup washed off with a few spring sails. My boatyard says multiple coats of Racing Bronze (what I have now) should last a few years but I thought Racing Bronze (Bottomkote) is only good for one season. (I don't race, by the way.)

What are you multi-year freshwater boaters using, how long is it lasting you?
