looking for history
I have owned every sort of sailboat from prams to cruisers, sold some, lost some to hurricanes, cut up one or two with a chainsaw, but this boat has stuck. I know it is at least 50 years old as it decorated a nautical gift shop in Delaware for many years. It was built on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, I found it hanging from the rafters of a barn in North Carolina. It is heavily constructed of 1 1/4 Teak over oak. The teak is just as sweet as the day it was built. I refastened it with stainless but did not have to replace any wood. The centerboard is not stainless and has some surface corrosion but no degradation. It sails like a lightning, in fact dimensionally it's almost a lightning but heavier . I think the "doghouse" was added later as the quality is not quite as good. Someone spent a lot of time and money building this boat, any chance any of you old timers recognize it. Thanks Thom
