I have come to this site numerous times and never needed to ask a question as someone had asked one similar. But now it is my turn, I have read most if not all forums dealing with rudder
repair. That is where I find myself now. I was loading my Columbia 26 when it somehow came off the hitch, tilted and landed on the rudder. It bent the shaft. I was looking for a rudder just to replace it with minimal work but I can't find one. So I decided to
repair the one I have. I have read the procedure, how to split rejoin etc. But I don't know what the inner core material is. Mine looks like foam but very hard, white and solid. So my questions are "what is this material"? What is it called and where can I find it? If it is
epoxy, what type, brand and where can I find it. Foam is soft either close or open cell, this looks like neither or I could be wrong and misinformed. If you know please let me know what it is called and not only it's initials. As it would make it harder to find.
