I'm probably the only player, a most on here seem to like old shoes........
Seems like some of us that want newer boats of a slightly different design need to go overseas to find one.
Not sure why the J's and X's have not sold here in puget sound where I am. THe previous X dealer, ie Jeanneau dealer too, found most would get a Jeanneau, or C&C/Tartan over an X as the exchange was too much, ie 2 euro to 1 US dollar. Now that it is closer to 1-1, something might sell. The same dealer has had issues with Nauticat's. That design is popular around here due to us being able to sail yr around, but winter is on the cold side, so you can motor sail in the lighter days, sail heavier, and no wind days motor.
Racers seem to go after older boats that are still competitive in PHRF, IRC folks go why? as in why spend the approx $1000 to rate a boat, when one can get a phrf rating for less than $100. There does not seem to be the , "i need latest and greatist" with boats, unlike cars. When Porsche brought out the boxer, 47 or 48 or the first 50 were sold here in Seattle to Microsoft employee's. Divorce attny had one, did not see anything special about it personally...
Now to take dog to vet, figure out what to do about wifes B-day today............
