in another thread, installing adblock plus was suggested. I installed this package into firefox and have been very happy with the results. While the sponsors need to make a buck, if it makes the site unusable, it is an 'epic fail' as my kids would say.
I dont know what exists for IE, but one could get some immediate satisfaction by
adding fake entries at the end of your hosts file:
127.0.0.1 app.serviceengine.com
127.0.0.1 ad.afy11.net
This will resolve these host names to your local machine and likely quickly ignore those requests. ( this 'hosts' file may be found in the drivers\etc directory under your windows system area )
