I recently got my own very first sailboat to learn on - an old Dolphin Sr - also a 14' boat. It seems to work well, for smaller, inland lakes with little traffic (first time out.) On Lake of the Ozarks, though... I spent a little time struggling with oft-changing wind directions, frequent, tho short calms, etc, simply sailing back and forth a few times in an inlet, before I decided that a narrow lake like that, with such enormous high-powered motor traffic volume, was a bad place to practice. I'll be back to the little 100 acre lake near home, for my future practice sails.

wups, quick edit & add: Oh, yeah. The dolphins seem to go cheap; I got mine for $300, including the trailer. Many seem to go for around $500 or so.
