I've always liked the Bill Dixon designed Moodys. We considered a 47' in the same range as the 422 and 425 . Fabulous boat but way too big for the two of us I'm afraid.

Moody have always had a great reputation although in later years before the buy out, their quality control , particularly regarding interior fitout was a bit suspect given their price.

My favourite of that series was the 425 which was a bit later than the 422. Very similar boat except for the extra couple of feet. Suffer from the usual shortcomings of centre cockpit boats and could do with a bit more water capacity. Not sure about the 422s but most 425s have in mast furling which I personally don't like.
