This concerns me, any speculation or details?
I'm hoping some gross error will reassure me that this was not just a freak accident. Motor was dead, presumably battery then died (radio failure), not clipped to jackline? head trauma?
Does "he was an avid sailor" mean just Dad? Just dinghy's on the river? How much training for coastal cruising had they done especially for taking out a small craft (29ft)? It was only a 5ft swell, "rogue wave" in small-craft advisory...man overboard drills? Sail power if motor had failed?
Just seems like a lot of things could have been wrong here...or maybe want there to be to make me feel better about plans to take a similar trip with my sons someday.
Thoughts anyone?
