CaptainForce will become famous soon enough
I also keep 250' of chain but I never replace all of it at a time. I ocassionally cut off a more coroded 50 feet and attach a new length. There are a cou[le of marketed connector links that are suitable but I often find that they will corrode at a faster rate than my chain. Though these connector links ride well over my gypsy, I elect to use a pair of Crosby shackles at connections. They jump and knock over my gypsy, but it's a short stutter and never a jam. Many also use those "H" shaped connectors, but I can't recall their name,- someone here will know. I should add that I use a manual windlass and I can monitor my shackle jump over the gypsy. Take care and joy, Aythya crew
