I am trying to breath new life into an older Bristol Corinthian 19 - obvious from the model, performance is not the highest priority. The original mainsheet system was based on a line controlled car on a stainless rail. it is bent an beat up beyond recovery.
I have not really sailed in 20 years and this is my first sailboat - suggestions, direction and advice welcome around:
- Should I replace this with near original hardware - If so, where can this be found?
- Should I buy a simple but modern traveler?
- Should I step backwards with a simple triangle (Crosby?) system?
What are the advantages of each of these options?
