For a dinghy of Your kind I would go for a 2 stroke. It may be 'louder', but only at low rpm's. Oil consumption -depends on usahe, but remember You have both filter and oil to change on the 4 stroke. Wheight - the main reason I would go for a 2-atroke. Acceleration: for water skiing 4 strokes are killing slow, for wakeboarding 'ideal' ast they pull up an enormous wake! If You submerge the engine: 2-stroke you almost simply drain the carbs and restart, 4-strokes: numerous oil changes etc, carbs and very often cam belt and electonics.
