I believe that the scales tip more heavily in favor of a two stroke with smaller engines. My decision would probably turn on whether I was keeping the engine on the boat and whether I intended to lift it frequently. The four stroke will be significantly heavier. On the other hand, if you are using it a lot, the four stroke will be substantially quieter, smoother and more efficient. Good luck.
